About the Production

Carmina Burana premiered in December 2016, presenting Carl Orff’s celebrated cantata with integrated video projections that respond to and enhance the musical drama.

Orchestras

  • Philharmonisches Kammerorchester Berlin
  • Warschau Festival Orchestra
  • MAV Symphony Orchestra
  • National Ballet Company of Colombia

Artistic Approach

The video design covers all 25 pieces of Orff’s cycle. The visual material draws from naturalistic elements, colors, and textures, creating a real-time integration with the musical composition.

A pre-written video score ensures precise synchronization between the projected imagery and the live performance, employing modern video-mapping and light design techniques.

Visual Language

Rather than literal illustration, the projections create an atmospheric backdrop that breathes with the music—shifting from ethereal spring imagery to the darker tones of the tavern scenes, always serving the emotional arc of the work.
